SURPRISE PROPOSAL SUNRISE HIKE
Andrew and Taylor's surprise proposal in Oahu Hawaii was a DREAM. It was the perfect surprise proposal idea especially if you're an adventurous couple and love exploring and doing new things together. 🥹
THE PLAN
Andrew set up a call with me and told me he wanted to propose to his lovely girlfriend Taylor but he wanted to do it on their favorite hike for sunrise. And I was like YES I AM SO DOWN.
He chose this hike on the east side of the island and it's one of their all time favorite hikes to do. Andrew is from Hawaii but they met and currently live in San Diego, and come back every once in a while to visit his family. wWhen they do visit, they always do this hike as a little tradition that is special and unique to them. Since I couldn't hike it up by myself and needed to walk up with them, we had to come up with a plan so it wasn't suspicious or weird 😂
So the story was that Andrew and I knew each other from high school (plot twist, we didn't lolz but actually ended up having mutual friends in the end 😂 ) and I wanted to join them on this hike since I've never done it before. When I met up with them for the hike, I was acting super excited to just go on this hike with them and that it was so nice to reconnect with an old classmate 🤪. It was around a 40 minute hike up and when we got to the top we waited a few minutes for peek sunrise. Then Andrew set up a GoPro on the side, I whipped out my camera and then BOOM they're engaged!! It was such a sweet moment and they were so in love and excited to continue doing life with each other. He was also super thoughtful and ended up bringing her an extra dress to wear that he thought she would like. 🥹
FUNNY STORY:
After Andrew proposed to her, Taylor was like, "wait hold on", and went into their backpack and took out ANOTHER RING BOX 😭 that she had got him a ring a while back because they knew they were going to get engaged, it was just a matter of when. So she got him a ring that was engraved their names on the inside of the band and it was the cutest moment omg. When she posted the photos on Instagram, her caption was, "normalize proposing back to your husband" and I thought it was literally the sweetest thing ever.
Fast forward and now they are married and moving back to Hawaii in a few months!!
