WAIKIKI WEDDING VENUE

Talk about paradise!! The Hilton Hawaiian Village is the perfect location if you're wanting to get married in Oahu and want a tropical yet urban experience. It's in the heart of Waikiki with the beach, views of Diamond Head, and front row seats to some of the best sunsets! These two had the perfect wedding colors to match the ocean & sand with a dusty blue & warm beige - it was gorgeous!

THE WEDDING DAY

Their closest family and friends stayed with them in separate suites at the Hilton the weekend of the wedding so they could all celebrate together before and after the wedding. (One of the many perks of getting married at a venue like this!)

They got ready at the Hilton and did their first look down in the garden which was so beautiful. Lots of tears were shed, it was such a romantic and raw moment. (I'm not crying, you are!) Their bridal party was also there watching from afar to witness the moment. We gave them as much time as they needed to talk and embrace each other soaking in the moment before continuing with photos and then heading to the ceremony!

After the first look, we all caught a party bus to the ceremony at Pali View Church in Kaneohe. There was unexpectedly A LOT of traffic during that time which made us about 20 minutes late to the ceremony but good news is that they couldn’t start without us, lol! Kai and Lindsay go to this church regularly so it was also a special place for them to tie the knot.

Everyone headed back to the Hilton for the reception and their party was OVER 350+ people! They had a tinikling performance to celebrate Filipino culture and heritage, the money dance, and Lindsay also surprised Kai with a special medley she put together and played on the piano, surrounded by her bridesmaids who sang with her! They even hired a band to perform when the dancing started! Talk about a CELEBRATION!!

Their wedding colors: Ocean & Sand - dusty blue & beige

THE COUPLE

Kai proposed at Thanksgiving dinner in front of Lindsay's entire family. He was the last to say what he was thankful for and everyone figured out he was proposing except Lindsay!

They both grew up in Kaneohe & have been together since October 7, 2017. Kai was deployed overseas for 11 months from 2018-2019. They're also super organized and set up a whole website to keep their family and friends informed for their big day. I loved it!

I love seeing how different everyone’s wedding days are and unique it is to them! I will usually document smaller weddings over around 150 people or less so this wedding was the biggest I’ve photographed so far!
